Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Overview

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 features a 6.9-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover screen. Its vertically folding design combines a full-sized smartphone display with a compact body measuring just 85.5mm tall when folded.

Powered by the Samsung Exynos 2500 processor, the Galaxy Z Flip7 comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB internal storage. It includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 10MP front camera and 5G connectivity.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 also introduces Samsung DeX support to the Flip series and runs Android 16 with One UI 8. Other features include a 4300mAh battery, 25W wired charging, wireless charging, Wi-Fi 7, IP48 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on its exterior surfaces.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Features

6.9-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a 6.9-inch foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X main display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels and a 21:9 aspect ratio.

The adaptive 120Hz refresh rate adjusts to supported content, providing smoother scrolling and animations. The display supports HDR10+ and reaches up to 2600 nits of peak brightness.

The larger screen provides more room for reading, messaging, browsing, watching videos and using compatible applications when the phone is unfolded.

4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display with a resolution of 1048 x 948 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Unlike the smaller cover screens used on earlier Z Flip models, the Flip7's FlexWindow extends across much of the outer surface, providing more space for notifications, widgets, camera previews and compatible application controls.

Users can access supported Galaxy AI features and selected phone functions directly from the cover screen without unfolding the device.

Compact Foldable Design and Flex Mode

The Galaxy Z Flip7 measures 166.7 x 75.2 x 6.5mm when unfolded and 85.5 x 75.2 x 13.7mm when folded. It weighs 188g.

The folding hinge allows the phone to remain partially open at supported angles. Flex Mode can adjust compatible applications for this position, allowing hands-free camera recording, video calls and other functions when the device is placed on a stable surface.

Samsung Exynos 2500 Processor

The Galaxy Z Flip7 uses Samsung's Exynos 2500 chipset, built on a 3nm manufacturing process. Its 10-core CPU combines a high-performance Cortex-X5 core, Cortex-A725 processing cores and Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.

The Xclipse 950 GPU handles supported gaming, graphics and display operations. Together with 12GB RAM, the chipset supports multitasking, camera processing and the phone's AI-enabled features.

50MP Main Camera with Optical Image Stabilisation

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a dual rear-camera system:

• 50MP Wide Camera: f/1.8 aperture, 23mm focal length, 1/1.57-inch sensor, dual pixel autofocus and optical image stabilisation.
• 12MP Ultra-Wide Camera: f/2.2 aperture, 13mm focal length and a 123-degree field of view.

The 50MP camera captures detailed photographs and uses optical image stabilisation to reduce blur caused by small camera movements. The ultra-wide camera captures a broader scene for landscapes, buildings and group photographs.

Additional camera features include HDR, panorama and LED flash.

FlexCam and Cover Screen Selfies

The foldable design allows the Galaxy Z Flip7 to use its rear cameras for selfies while the cover display shows a live preview.

FlexCam also supports hands-free shooting with the phone partially folded. This arrangement can be used for photographs, group shots and video recording without requiring a separate phone stand in suitable conditions.

4K Video and Slow-Motion Recording

The rear camera system records 4K video at 30fps or 60fps and 1080p video at 60fps, 120fps or 240fps. It also supports 720p slow-motion recording at up to 960fps and HDR10+ video recording.

The 50MP main camera's optical image stabilisation helps compensate for small movements when recording supported video formats.

10MP Front Camera

The Galaxy Z Flip7 includes a 10MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It supports HDR photography and 4K video recording at 30fps or 60fps.

The camera is positioned within the folding main display. Users can also take selfies with the rear cameras using the external FlexWindow as a viewfinder.

12GB RAM and UFS 4.0 Storage

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is available with 12GB RAM in two storage configurations:

• 256GB internal storage with 12GB RAM
• 512GB internal storage with 12GB RAM

Both configurations use UFS 4.0 storage. The phone does not include a microSD card slot, so its internal storage capacity cannot be expanded using a memory card.

4300mAh Battery and Charging

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a 4300mAh dual-battery system, offering a larger battery capacity than the 4000mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Flip6.

It supports 25W wired charging, with Samsung advertising approximately 50% charge in 30 minutes using compatible charging equipment. Wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging are also supported.

Actual battery life and charging speeds depend on device settings, network conditions, usage and charging accessories.

Samsung DeX Desktop Experience

The Galaxy Z Flip7 is the first Galaxy Z Flip model to support Samsung DeX. This feature allows the phone to provide a desktop-style interface when connected to a compatible external display.

Samsung DeX supports compatible applications in a larger workspace with windowed controls and external keyboard and mouse functionality.

Galaxy AI and Circle to Search

The Galaxy Z Flip7 includes Galaxy AI features integrated with Android 16 and One UI 8. Supported functions include AI-assisted communication, search and productivity tools.

Circle to Search lets users select visible content on the screen to initiate a Google search without manually switching to a browser.

Galaxy AI feature availability can vary by region, language, software version and account requirements.

Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Armor Aluminum

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on its exterior glass surfaces and an Armor Aluminum frame.

Its folding display uses a flexible screen structure, while the hinge allows the phone to open into a full-sized smartphone. As with other foldables, the internal display requires careful handling, and the folding crease may remain visible.

IP48 Dust and Water Resistance

The Galaxy Z Flip7 carries an IP48 rating. The rating covers protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and laboratory-tested water immersion at depths of up to 1.5 metres for 30 minutes.

The IP48 rating does not mean the phone is fully dustproof. Fine dust, sand and other small particles should be kept away from the hinge and folding screen.

Water resistance can decrease through wear, accidental damage or repairs.

5G, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4

The Galaxy Z Flip7 supports 5G mobile connectivity alongside 4G LTE and earlier mobile network technologies.

Its wireless features include tri-band Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. Positioning support includes GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BDS and QZSS.

The phone also supports Nano-SIM and eSIM configurations, with a maximum of two active SIM connections at a time, subject to regional model and network support.

Fingerprint Security and Stereo Audio

The Galaxy Z Flip7 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. Additional sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass and barometer.

The phone features stereo speakers, high-resolution audio support and USB Type-C connectivity. It does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Android 16 and One UI 8

The Galaxy Z Flip7 launched with Android 16 and Samsung One UI 8. Samsung promises seven generations of major Android operating system upgrades, alongside an extended security update commitment.

The software includes Samsung's foldable-screen interface, FlexWindow functions, supported Galaxy AI features and Samsung DeX desktop functionality.
