To temporarily disable or deactivate your Instagram account on a desktop, follow the steps below.

1. Open Instagram.com on your desktop,
2. Click on the account icon and select Profile from the drop-down menu
3. Click on Edit Profile
4. Scroll to the bottom of the page the click on the temporarily disable account button
5. Select an option from the drop-down box to answer why you want to disable your account.
6. Re-enter your password to confirm account ownership
7. Now, click on the temporarily disable the account to successfully deactivate your Instagram account.
